When it comes to social media, the name of the game is interactions, engagement and actually being *social*. Shock, huh?
It’s one thing to have a compelling picture, but in most cases that picture isn’t enough, and it doesn’t actually say 1,000 words.
If you’re looking to grow your brand, business or yourself on social media, you need to add value to the conversation. What makes your account one that people should click follow for? How are you going to be different to the 500,000 other accounts out there?
Add value with your captions. Ask a question in the caption, encourage them to share their experience or invite them to tag their friends. Here are a few easy things that you can do with your next post to up your game:
- Use Your Voice.
Are you funny, lighthearted, serious or informative? Be very in tune with your brand’s voice and make sure you channel it when you write your captions.
- Don’t Rush.
There’s nothing more *blah* than reading a caption that was written for the sake of adding a caption (yes, your audience can tell). Instead, take time to think about what you want to say, and what would benefit your audience to read.
It’ll be well worth the time taken, trust us.
- Break it up.
Nobody jumps on Instagram to read an essay, so next time you’re planning out your caption, take it to your notes app and add spacing between key points. This will keep it easy and fun for people to read, and most importantly, the information you’re giving will be easier to absorb by your readers.
- Use Emojis.
Not an emoji user? We’d recommend thinking about changing this.
Emojis are a great way to keep your captions fun and fresh, and more importantly, they’re eye-catching. Besides, have you ever seen a smiley emoji you didn’t like? Na, us neither.
